SPIEL photos and the D&D book prototype

Dear friend of Skytear Games,
We just came back from Essen SPIEL, the biggest and chaotichest game convention on this planet.

We came back tired and out of stock... but smiling!

Over there we also met with our wonderful manufacturers and they gave us the first prototype of Olan Taa: the D&D worldbook coming to Kickstarter this November.

If you haven't signed up for the Olan Taa giveaway just yet, don't despair, here's a link for you: https://shop.playskytear.com/en/olan-taa

Now let's just pretend you are walking in hall 3 of the SPIEL convention...

If you could make it past the the crowd, you'd see our humble booth, with 3 big banners for the main games on display

  1. Onward: released just in time for the show
  2. Skytear Horde: our classic solo / co-op card battler
  3. Olan Taa: the upcoming RPG worldbook
  4. (we couldn't make the banner for Dicequest, our upcoming boardgame, but that prototype was there too, with its designer!)

Onward is our brand new MOBA board game.

It was crowdfunded last May. We delivered it to all EU, UK, and US backers in the last few weeks and we made it available at the show.

More than 100 MOBA fans brought us out of stock just in time the last day of the show. If you are from the EU/UK/US, you can get your copy on our shop... as well as a copy of our other released game: Skytear Horde.

As we said a few weeks ago, we consider Skytear Horde *done*.

It's our solo/co-op card battler inspired by TCGs, that has seen 3 yearly stand-alone but compatible sets since its release.

With 15-20 minute snappy games and at the very least 144 meaningful different matchups out of the box... there's a treasure to discover if that is your genre of games!

Last but not least, we had the prototype area with Dicequest and Olan Taa.

Dicequest is our upcoming dice-chucking-but-build-your-own-luck board game... from Jochen Eisenhuth, the same designer as Super Fantasy Brawl.

Jochen, the designer of Dicequest, was there too, giving convincent pitches... and handing out cute stickers of one of the characters from the game.

Over there, we also had a set of painted Onward miniatures that a lucky customer brought home on the last day...

And please meet Turbo! He wins the award for our most distant all-in fan... all the way from Thailand!

Are they birds? Dragons? No! It's our team: Parme, Zaraghul, and yours truly (unfortunately, our new entry, Pedro, was busy explaining...)

Now...

I wanted to share some photos of the Olan Taa book prototype BUT my newsletter editor is warning me I've already put too many images for today... so that'll be for another time!

Thanks for following and happy gaming!
Giacomo

Dear friend of Skytear Games, Did you play any great new (or old) game recently? Over here, I just re-discovered Toy Battle, a quick and fierce 2-player game from Paolo Mori. Anyway... Dicequest crowdfunding ended last week and... THANK YOU! Now we're working hard to deliver Dicequest in just about 6 months. But Today newsletter is about Twisted, the solo and co-op expansion for Onward. This April, we'll crowdfund it on Gamefound: https://gamefound.com/en/projects/skytear/onward-twisted...

Dear friend of Skytear Games, If you are one of the 2000+ humans who already backed Dicequest... thank you! Otherwise, you have about 48 hours left to get Dicequest on Gamefound and save up to $31. (Will this timer work? Who knows ;)) You can get Dicequest for as little as 3 monthly $12 payments. Or "splurge" with the fancy deluxe all-in for just $22 more.
