Dear friend of Skytear,
After some newsletters dedicated to our latest game, Skytear Horde, it is time to go back to the origins, back to Skytear the tabletop MOBA!
Let's start with some quick community updates before digging into today's topic...
Have you played already with the cards and heroes from the December release: Unforgotten? How do you find them?
This year there will be 2 releases for Skytear, the tabletop MOBA.
On April 22 we will release Embassy Ruins: a new tight 3-lane map designed to be played with just four heroes and a much shorter playtime compared to the "old" three lane map.
Then, in August, we will release Untamed, the fourth and last expansion of dual-faction heroes, effectively closing the cycle we started in the winter of 2020 with the release of Stormsear and Winterdeep.
The ones of you who got the new 48 poker chips already found out how the new heroes from Untamed look... for everything else stay tuned for more spoilers!
Skytear was launched in February 2020 together with the rise of the pandemic.
Because of this, our organized play has always been synonimous of online organized play. We do want to back to the table and away from the computer, but it looks like 2022 will remain mostly online, through the 3rd party software Tabletop Simulator.
Here's the calendar, with one key event for each month:
There are a few changes compared to last year, so here're some details about clashes and world qualifiers.
4 Clashes
These remain the best way to get started playing Skytear online.
Europe and America regions will be combined even though priority will be given to pair players from similar timezones (thanks to Kirito doing the pairings).
4+1 World Qualifiers
These will be 100% free this year.
We cut the entry ticket and also the shards from the equation, to remove as many barriers as possible to participation.
These will be asynchronous like the clashes, 1 match per week over 4 weeks for the swiss stage, followed by a top-cut.
This was the gist of it. If you want to join us, we are friendly and always looking for new blood... it starts from entering Discord and saying hi!
Many many thanks to Eric aka wiwwt for doing most of the work on planning this!
That'all for this newsletter,
Happy gaming!
Giacomo
